South Gloucestershire, like the country as a whole, has voted narrowly to leave the European Union. The official result in our area was:
Remain: 74,928 (47.3%)
Leave: 83,405 (52.7%)
Turnout: 76.2%
Your Focus Team campaigned positively with people of other parties and none for the UK to remain in the European Union, so of course we are disappointed. Now the momentous decision has been made to leave, we will continue to work to get the best for local people as our country takes the next steps.

What an absolute disaster. The people who voted leave have been brainwashed into thinking we don't have control over our country when in fact we already do control our police, our defence policy and armed forces, schools, health, welfare, the NHS, tax, foreign policy, you name it. Virtually everything of any importance, we already control. We've tossed down the pan access to our biggest market and for NOTHING. We're going to regret this decision for decades and decades. A truly terrible day.
Naturally I share your concerns. I think it's quite clear no one is sure what the next move is and we're are in for a very bumpy ride. Some of the senior Brexit campaigners are talking about staying in the EEA, which won't satisfy those who voted leave for an end to free movement.
