Want a "Wheely big challenge"? Try the Sodbury Sportive!

This annual cycling event on 18th August offers a choice of 30, 60 and 100 mile routes starting and finishing in Chipping Sodbury. It's organised by the Members and Friends of the Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury. All profits from this classic sportive event will be given to charity.

See the Rugby League World Cup Tropy

Stop and search consultation

The Home Office wants to know your views on the police powers of stop and search. They are looking at whether stop and search is used appropriately and fairly and how it can be better targeted and more intelligence-led. To find out more and respond go to the PCC website. . Westerleigh smell recurrence

Thank you to those who have reported the smells coming from the sewers in Westerleigh in recent weeks. Unfortunately there have been problems with hydrogen sulphide gas in the sewers. The Environment Agency, Wessex Water and Tulip (the owners of the abattoir) are all working to find a solution as quickly as they can. If you want to report an incident, please call the Environment Agency on 0800 80 70 60. This is free to call from landlines and operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Do you use bought-in logs for heating? Would you be interested in joining a wood buying group to use bulk purchasing to reduce prices?
