Foster carers needed

South Glos Council has launched an appeal to encourage people to consider fostering one or more of the 170 children in their care and urge people not to rule themselves out.

They stress that foster carers come from a very wide range of ages and backgrounds and get training and support to help them. Carers can be:
  • single, married, widowed, divorced or living as a couple
  • straight, gay, lesbian or bisexual
  • with or without children
  • of any religious faith or none at all
  • any cultural background
  • homeowners or renting
  • employed, retired or on benefits
  • with or without professional childcare experience
  • with or without qualifications
If you think you might be interested, there is an open evening at the council's Badminton Road officers on Thursday 25th September where you can learn more. Call 01454 866423 for more details.
