Appeal for house in Lower Stone Close dismissed

A planning inspector has dismissed the appeal against the planning committee's refusal of an application to build a new house in the front garden of 15 Lower Stone Close, Frampton Cotterell. The Inspector concluded that the proposal's design shortcomings and the harm it would cause outweighed its benefits. Local residents had raised concerns and Pat Hockey referred it to the planning committee after officers recommended approval.

Planning Inspector backs residents

The planning inspector has dismissed all the appeals against the planning committee's refusal to extend the working hours at Ram Hill Business Park. Residents and local councillor Claire Young (pictured left), who referred the application to the committee after officers had recommended approval, are delighted that the Planning Inspector listened to their concerns.

Appeal against refusal of extended hours at Ram Hill Business Park

Last July, the planning committee refused applications to extend the working hours at Ram Hill Business Park. The owners have now appealed against this decision.

Any comments made on the original planning applications will be passed on to the planning inspector who will decide the appeals. If you have any new information, you have until 23rd February to make representations.

Details of the appeals are on the South Glos website. Select "Appeals" and search for the following references: 12/00004/COND, 12/00002/REFUS and 12/00003/REFUS. You can view the appeals and make comments on the Planning Portal:

We say no to Windmill Green

If you want to help protect the fields next to Park Farm make a note in your diary for October 20th. That is when the three day Public Inquiry into Barratts proposals for 220 houses starts. It will be held in the Ship Inn at Thornbury.

Local residents made it very clear to Frampton Cotterell Parish Council when they came along to the planning committee meeting that they found these proposals totally unacceptable. Many more of you signed a petition. South Glos Council refused the planning application and will be defending its decision at the Inquiry held by a Government Inspector.

Frampton Cotterell Parish Council has agreed that Pat Hockey should represent it at the inquiry. It is very important that the Inspector can clearly see that she is speaking on behalf of local residents!
