The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) is currently consulting the public on six draft energy ‘National Policy Statements,’ which will eventually help to set out how the country generates energy for its future needs. One of the documents is the draft Nuclear National Policy Statement (NPS), as part of which the Government is consulting on a list of potential sites for new nuclear power stations, including land next to the existing Oldbury Power Station.
